The project aimed to the developing of a Regional Master Plan/Strategy for the Attica Region (the largest region in Greece) for the establishment of the basis for future investments, objectives, activities and performance targets for SWM service delivery. The Master Plan included collection, recovery and disposal processes for the various solid waste streams generated throughout the region.

The regional master plan acts as a short and long-term action plan and program to meet the objectives and performance targets of the National Plan and governing laws and EU regulations.

Apart from the execution of the Regional Plan, EPTA implemented the Strategic Environmental Impact Assessment Study for the Regional Plan for the management of solid waste management and provided support to the Client up to the approval of SEIA and the Regional Master Plan.
