The scope of the assignment was to conduct a pre-feasibility study for the establishment of an integrated waste management system in the Southern Region of Azerbaijan.

The objective of the study was to develop a solid technical proposal and an investment plan for the development of an integrated regional system, to address all aspects of waste management – from collection to treatment/ disposal and to examine the arising opportunities and benefits.

Moreover, based on the conclusions of the study, technical input was provided to the Ministry of Environment in Azerbaijan to support the National Waste Management Plan drafting.
