Viability assessment of a Used Lead Acid Battery collection and recycling scheme in Jordan

The aim of this project was to assess the viability of the implementation of a Used Lead Acid Battery (ULAB) collection and recycling scheme in Jordan.

Within this frame, EPTA conducted the following tasks:

  1. Waste Mapping
  2. Technical & financial feasibility
  3. Identification of the Current Barriers and Gaps
  4. Assessment of the Environmental and Social impacts
  5. Presentation of the legal, procedural and structural options (PPP and non-PPP options) – option analysis, highlighting the benefits and disadvantages of the available approaches.

 

As part of the viability assessment study, highlighted were the measures required to develop an in – context, environmentally and economically sound scheme, in line with international best practice.
